ACM

ACM delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. ACM provides the computing field's premier Digital Library and serves its members and the computing profession with leading-edge publications, conferences, and career resources.

ACM은 다양한 Computing 관련 분야를 Special Interest Group (SIG)로 묶어서 구분하고 있다. 각각의 그룹들은 주제별로 다양한 Conference를 열고 있으며 많은 연구 결과를 공유하고 있다. 이들 중 특별히 우리 연구실과 특별히 더 관련된 SIG 관련 정보를 간추려 보았다. 각 SIG의 웹사이트를 참고하여 열일 예정인 학회의 Call for Papers 정보를 얻을 수 있다.

  • SIGIR - Information Retrieval
    • The ACM Special Interest Group on Information Retrieval welcomes members working in all aspects of information storage, retrieval, and dissemination, including research, development, evaluation, and education. The mission of SIGIR has expanded to cover a variety of search-related research topics applied to a broad range of unstructured data including text, images, video, audio, and recorded speech. SIGIR sponsors its own conference on research and development in information retrieval and co-sponsors several other conferences and workshops.
  • SIGKDD - Knowledge Discovery in Data
    • SIGKDD's primary mission is to provide the premier forum for advancement, education, and adoption of the "science" of knowledge discovery and data mining from all types of data stored in computers and networks of computers. SIGKDD promotes basic research and development in KDD, adoption of "standards" in the market in terms of terminology, evaluation, methodology and interdisciplinary education among KDD researchers, practitioners, and users.
  • SIGMIS - Management Information Systems
    • The ACM Special Interest Group on Management Information Systems promotes best-practice and research in the management of information systems and technologies and the use of these systems and technologies. SIGMIS is a founder of ISWorld Net at www.isworld.org, and a sponsor of several conferences on information systems and technology. As one of the oldest of ACM's SIGS, SIGMIS traces its beginning back to 1961, and for decades has been instrumental in defining and developing the field of management and information systems. The annual Computer Personnel Research (CPR) Conference is unique in its role of gathering together MIS professionals.
  • SIGMOD - Management of Data
    • The ACM Special Interest Group on Management of Data is an association for students and professionals interested in research, development, and deployment of solutions to large-scale data management problems. The scope of interests that members bring to SIGMOD is wide, with an almost equal mix of people from industry and from academia. SIGMOD sponsors an annual conference that is regarded as one of the most important in the field.

IEEE

IEEE(http://www.ieee.org)는 전기 전자 공학 및 컴퓨터에 관한 국제 조직이다. 분야에 따른 Society로 이루어지며, 컴퓨터 관련 Society는 다음과 같다.

Publication

IEEE는 Journal, Transaction, Letter, Magazine을 발행한다. IEEE Journals & Magazines 페이지에 목록이 있다. IEEE의 publication을 찾아보려면 IEEE Xplore를 이용한다. 각 publication의 변동 상황을 RSS로 구독할 수 있다.

CFP

Conference의 CFP를 검색할 수 있다. Deadline 또는 sponsor로 검색할 수 있다. (ex: 1달 이내 또는 IEEE Computer Society)

e-Mail 구독

Journal, Magazine, Standard의 변동을 이메일로 받기 원한다면 Table of Contents Alerts 를 이용한다. 무료이나 sign up이 필요하다. IEEE의 활동, 산업 경향, 경력 개발 팁, IEEE 제품 릴리스 등의 소식을 이메일로 받기 원한다면 What’s New@IEEE 를 이용한다. 달마다 발행되며, 구독 주제를 circuits, communications, computing, libraries, power, signal processing, students, wireless 중에서 지정할 수 있다.

VLDB

Very Large Data Base Endowment Inc. (VLDB Endowment) is nonprofit organisation incorporated in the United States for the sole purpose of promoting and exchanging scholarly work in databases and related fields throughout the world

VLDB Official Web Page에서 그동안 열린 Conference 들, 발간된 Journal들의 웹페이지들을 링크하고 있으며 Proceeding 자료를 비롯하여 열릴 것으로 예정되어있는 다음 학회에 대한 정보를 얻을 수 있다.

VLDB Conference, The VLDB Journal, VLDB historical archives에 대한 정보는 각각의 홈페이지를 통하여 자세히 열람할수 있다.

주제

VLDB에서 다루고 있는 주제는 다음과 같으며 매년 8~9월에 학회를 개최한다. (2007년 기준)

  • The Core Database Technology Track will evaluate papers on technologies intended to be incorporated within the database system itself.
  • The Information Infrastructure Track covers all aspects of data management not implemented within a conventional database engine.
  • The Industrial, Applications, and Experience Track covers innovative commercial database implementations, novel applications of database technology, and experience in applying recent research advances to practical situations

국내 학회

KOREAN DATABASE CONFERENCE

한국정보과학회 데이터베이스연구회 주최로 열리는 학회로서, 데이터베이스 및 정보 기술에 관련된 내용을 주로 다루고 있다. 주로 4~5월에 Paper 모집이 시작된다.

주제

  • Transaction, Query Optimization, Multimedia Database등의 Database이론 분야
  • 디지털 컨텐츠, 인터넷 비즈니스 응용, 데이터베이스 마케팅, E-Business, 지식관리 시스템 등의 응용 분야
  • 실제 기업에서의 응용 사례를 볼 수 있는 산업체 세션.

한국컴퓨터종합학술대회

주제

정보과학회 주관으로 열리는 학회이다. Computer Science 및 전기전자분야, Information Science 전반을 다루고 있다.

  • 정보통신, 보안
  • 그래픽스, 비전, 패턴인식

춘계, 추계 2회 Paper를 모집하며, 주로 4~6장 내의 Short Paper를 모집한다. 논문 투고를 위하여 학생회원 가입이 필수이며 가입시 출판되는 학회지 및 저널을 받아볼 수 있다.

한국전자거래학회

연1회 9~10월경 전자거래학회 종합학술대회를 열며, 겨울에는 전자거래학회가 유치하는 국제 학술대회(ICCIT 등)이 있다.

주제

e-Business의 표준화, 정책, BPM등의 전자거래 기술과 Web Service, Semantic등의 기술과 U-Business, Business2.0, Collaborative Network등의 Trend를 등을 주제로 하고 있다.

한국데이터베이스학회

데이터베이스 및 e-Business에 관한 내용을 다루는 학회이다. 데이터베이스 및 Information Technology에 대한 저널을 출판하고 있다. (Database 저널, Journal of Information Technology Applications & Management)

DBWorld

데이터베이스 분야에서 연구 및 개발에 종사하는 많은 사람들에게 CFP에 관한 정보를 e-Mail을 통해 전달해주는 곳이다. 직접 Mailing list에 가입하여 정보를 받아볼 수도 있고, DBWORLD 메일들에 대한 검색 서비스를 지원하는 한국 SIGDB 사이트를 이용할 수도 있다.
